In the quiet hours of a Manila night, two new friends, Marcus and Gabriel, find themselves drawn together by an unspoken bond. When Gabriel proposes a spontaneous midnight snack run, the simple errand transforms into a journey of whispered confessions and lingering glances. Set against the backdrop of deserted streets and the soft glow of streetlights, this intimate short film captures the thrill of discovering mutual affection in the most ordinary moments. Through gentle conversations and hesitant touches, Marcus and Gabriel navigate the fragile line between friendship and something deeper, all while the world sleeps. 'Alas Kuwatro ng Madaling Araw at Gising Ka Pa' is a tender, lyrical exploration of first love, vulnerability, and the courage it takes to say what your heart already knows. Beautifully understated and emotionally resonant, this Filipino BL gem proves that sometimes, the most profound connections happen when the clock strikes four in the morning.

This short film completely stole my heart! The way Marcus and Gabriel just exist in each other's space—those long silences and shy smiles—felt so real. I cried happy tears at the end. Perfect comfort watch for a late night.

I appreciate what they were going for, but the pacing felt a bit too drawn out for a 15-minute film. Some dialogue could have been cut to keep the momentum. Still, the cinematography and the leads' natural acting saved it from being boring.

Visually stunning for a low-budget short. The warm streetlight glow against the dark blue night gave every frame a painterly quality. The director knows how to use negative space to convey longing. A feast for the eyes.

I loved that the entire dynamic was built on mutual respect and clear, if unspoken, consent. Gabriel asks before touching Marcus, and Marcus's hesitant nods are so carefully observed. It's refreshing to see a BL where the emotional safety of both characters is prioritized.

The ambient sounds and soft guitar in the background really set the mood. I wish there was an original song, but the subtle diegetic music—like the faint radio playing during the snack run—added to the realism. Very soothing to listen to.
