One Saturday night in Hong Kong, Alan and Ben meet at a break-up party and feel an immediate spark. They decide to leave together, hoping to find a hotel room for a night of passion. But it's a busy Saturday, and every hotel they try is fully booked. As they wander through the neon-lit streets and back alleys, they begin to open up about their pasts. Alan confesses his painful first hookup attempt at 17, when he was turned away from a villa because he was with another man. Ben reveals the heartbreaking day his mother abandoned him and his sister at a McDonald's. In just one night, their conversation shifts from lust to vulnerability, from erection to emotional connection. This 20-minute short film captures a tender, realistic portrait of two young men searching not only for a place to be intimate, but for a chance at something more meaningful in a city that often denies them space.

I didn't expect to get so emotional watching two guys walk around Hong Kong looking for a hotel room. The conversations they share feel so real – you can see the walls coming down slowly. It's a beautiful little film about vulnerability and hope.

The premise is sweet and I appreciate the attempt to show queer struggles, but the pacing drags in the middle and some of the dialogue feels too deliberate. It's a decent short film, but not as polished as similar shorts from Taiwan. Still, the chemistry saves it.

What struck me most was how the film uses the simple act of looking for a room to expose systemic homophobia. The characters' stories about being turned away at a villa and the McDonald's confessions are heartbreakingly real. It's a quiet but powerful reminder of how far we still have to go.

I love how the cinematography captures Hong Kong at night – the neon signs, the narrow alleys, the rain-slicked streets. It gives the film a melancholic yet dreamy vibe that perfectly matches the characters' emotional state. Low budget but visually thoughtful.
