When Hero, the rebellious son of a stern military general, flees his privileged life after his father’s remarriage threatens to bring a new stepbrother into the house, he finds himself in a quiet rural town. There, he crosses paths with Pop, a fiercely independent and financially struggling classmate who works multiple part-time jobs. Initially, Hero’s arrogance leads to petty pranks and teasing, but as he learns about Pop’s difficult home life, his antics soften into an obsessive desire to protect and claim him. What starts as a game of enemies-to-lovers quickly spirals into something deeper—especially when the two discover they are about to become stepbrothers. Set against lush countryside backdrops and layered with tension between their starkly different worlds, *Addicted Heroin* explores the intoxicating, dangerous pull of first love. This Thai adaptation walks a tightrope between sweet romance and dark obsession, offering a visually sumptuous yet controversial take on a beloved novel.

I honestly have no idea why people hate this series other than the actors' ages. Mac is only 16 but his maturity and chemistry with August is incredible. There's no explicit kissing so the intimate moments feel natural and sweet. The last episode absolutely destroyed me in the best way. I need a season 2!

As someone who watched both Chinese adaptations, this Thai version started strong with gorgeous cinematography but fell apart in the middle. The editing is choppy, annoying female characters are everywhere, and it completely fails to capture the addicting tension of the original. And the 'Season 1 of 2' bait-and-switch is just cruel.

This adaptation forgot what made Addicted special: the all-consuming, fiery obsession between the leads. Here Hero and Pop feel like a typical sweet couple. I appreciate they protected the underage actor by cutting intimate scenes, but without that passion it's just another school romance with stepbrother tropes. The editing is a mess too.

I dropped the series halfway because I couldn't stomach Hero's behavior. He bullies, drugs, and kidnaps Pop repeatedly, yet we're supposed to root for them? The age gap between a 28-year-old actor and a 16-year-old made every scene uncomfortable. I'm relieved there were no real kisses, but the toxicity is still glorified. Not for me.

This show is gorgeous to look at—the countryside setting, the warm lighting, the way Hero's workout scene is shot like a music video. But visually stunning doesn't save a script that jumps between scenes like a confused flashback reel. The production value is high, and August acts his heart out, but the overall package feels disjointed.
