This 90-minute special episode of the Thai BL series 'Addicted Heroin' picks up right after the main story, thrusting Hero and Poppy into a tense escape from Hero's ruthless father, the General. Amid the isolating backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, the couple flees to a quiet seaside town, hoping to carve out a life free from constant danger. But the General's forces are relentless, and soon military and SWAT teams close in, forcing Hero to confront his volatile temper and the secrets he still keeps from Poppy. Meanwhile, their friend Seal tries to intervene, and Jennise's sudden arrival tests the trust between the lovers. On the sidelines, Tiger struggles with his own personal battles, adding a layer of emotional gravity. Shot with a haunting coastal aesthetic, this special balances romantic intimacy with high-stakes tension, offering fans a bittersweet — and at times frustrating — continuation that explores whether love can truly survive when the world is falling apart.

I live for Hero and Poppy’s chemistry, and this special gave me exactly what I wanted — more of them. Sure, the plot was a little all over the place, but seeing them fight for each other against that terrifying dad made my heart ache in the best way. The seaside scenes were gorgeous, and I’ll take any extra time with this couple.

I wanted to love this, but honestly the writing was a mess. The COVID pandemic backdrop felt forced, the military shootouts were absurd, and Hero still has zero character growth. The 9-minute recap was insulting. If you’re going to make a special, at least give us a coherent story.

I'm here for Tiger, and his little arc was the highlight for me. The main couple’s drama got repetitive, but seeing Tiger struggle with his own demons felt real and grounded. I just wish there was more of him. The special isn’t perfect, but it gave me a few moments I’ll rewatch.

Visually, this special is stunning. The coastal light, the soft blues, the framing of Hero and Poppy against the sea — it’s like a long music video. I can overlook some plot holes because the mood and cinematography carry so much emotion. If you’re a fan of visual storytelling, it’s worth a watch.

I struggled with this one. Hero’s hot-headed behavior and the constant power imbalance between him and Poppy wasn’t romantic to me — it felt toxic and unresolved. The special had a chance to show growth or a healthy resolution, but it just recycled the same problems. Not great for a BL that wants to model healthy love.
