Lu Feng and Xiao Chen are two university students who fall deeply in love, their connection feeling destined and pure. But when their families discover the relationship, they are violently torn apart: Lu Feng is shipped off to Hong Kong by his wealthy father, while Xiao Chen is left behind to face a disapproving mother alone. Years later, fate reunites them as adults, but the scars of the past—and the weight of societal and familial homophobia—threaten to extinguish their rekindled flame. This raw, emotionally charged film captures the intensity of first love, the agony of forced separation, and the dangerous pull of a second chance. With stunning visual aesthetics and a soundtrack that amplifies every heartbeat, *A Round Trip to Love* delivers a whirlwind of passion, angst, and heartbreak that lingers long after the credits roll.

I am absolutely obsessed with Lu Feng and Xiao Chen. Their chemistry is off the charts—the way they look at each other makes my heart pound. Yes, the plot moves fast, but who cares when the romance is this intoxicating? I've rewatched their college scenes so many times. A true gem for hopeless romantics like me!

I wanted to love this, but the pacing is all over the place. They fall in love within the first ten minutes—no buildup, no depth. Then the conflicts feel thrown in randomly. The actors do their best, but the script doesn't give them enough to work with. It's an average cliché-fest that needed more time to breathe.

As a queer narrative, this film is fascinating—and problematic. The first part shows a sweet, fragile love crushed by society, but the second part exposes how Lu Feng's toxic masculinity destroys everything. It's a brutal but honest portrayal of how love can curdle into control and violence. Not romanticized, but definitely not for everyone.

Visually, this film is stunning. The soft lighting in the college scenes, the moody urban shots in the second half—every frame feels intentional. The color palette shifts beautifully to reflect the emotional tone. Even if the story has flaws, I kept watching just to soak in the cinematography. The soundtrack is also a highlight.

The music in *A Round Trip to Love* is absolutely perfect. That one piano theme that plays during their reunion? I still get chills. The OST elevates every emotional beat, making the heartbreak hit harder and the sweet moments linger longer. I've had the main song on repeat for weeks.
