This isn't a story about a middle-aged man lusting after a student—it's a heartbreaking, visually poetic exploration of queer regret and societal pressure. Jin-tae, a 45-year-old history teacher, finds himself haunted by a recurring, inexplicable vision: one of his students appears naked in class, a ghostly mirror of his first love from decades ago. As the boundary between memory and reality blurs, the film unfolds in muted autumn tones and near-silent moments, inviting viewers to listen not with their ears, but with their hearts. Through haunting flashbacks and the weight of unspoken words, 'A Naked Boy' captures a man grappling with a life unlived—the love he denied himself, the marriage he feels forced into, and the desperate need to finally say goodbye. A short film from acclaimed South Korean LGBTQ+ studio Strongberry, this is a slow-burn, metaphor-rich drama that demands patience and rewards deep emotional investment. It's a quiet, melancholic cry for the stories of older queer individuals that rarely get told.

This was a wonder. The meaning behind the whole thing is so deep and wonderful. I even watched it three times. The actors were fantastic, and the production quality is impressive for a short film. Minimal dialogue, but the storyline and acting convey everything without words. Strongberry continues to impress me.

I understand the importance of telling stories about older queer people, but I am not sold on the metaphor of a grown man seeing a naked teenager. It feels like putting the burden of past memories onto a child. It's a conversation starter, but the execution made me uncomfortable and I can't recommend it.

This is not about lust—it's about a man mourning his lost first love and the societal pressure to marry. The subtle acting, the autumn colours, the quiet sounds... everything is in the details. You have to listen with your heart, not your ears. A masterpiece of melancholy and queer regret.

I dropped this after 9 minutes because it was unbearably boring. No chemistry, predictable storyline, sluggish pacing, and uninspired visuals. I appreciate the attempt at a deeper meaning, but it failed to engage me on any level. Not worth the time.
