4 Days is a tender Filipino BL film that unfolds over the span of four Valentine's Days, tracing the quiet evolution of a friendship into something deeper. University roommates Derek and Mark share a dorm room, late-night study sessions, and an unspoken bond that slowly blurs the line between platonic and romantic. As each February 14th arrives, we witness their relationship mature through small gestures, hidden glances, and the weight of unvoiced feelings. The story’s emotional core lies in the tension between self-acceptance and the fear of losing what they already have. With a gentle, slice-of-life pace, the film captures the awkwardness and beauty of first love without grand melodrama. The final act delivers a poignant, heartfelt confrontation that redefines everything. Featuring soulful performances from singer-actors Mikoy Morales and Sebastian Castro, and a soundtrack composed by Morales himself, 4 Days is a raw, unpolished gem that resonates with anyone who has ever loved in silence.

I honestly loved the last 30 minutes so much that I've rewatched them multiple times. Derek and Mark's chemistry is so raw and real—you can feel the years of suppressed feelings bubbling up. Yes, the first part drags, but if you stick with it, the confession scene is one of the most moving I've seen in BL. Totally worth the wait for me.

I get what they were trying to do—show four years of slow burn—but the execution was frustrating. The first 42 minutes feel like endless filler; I didn't even realize each segment was a different Valentine's Day until nearly the end. The payoff is good, but you shouldn't have to suffer through so much dead air to get there. A tighter edit would have made this a classic.

The film has a very intimate, almost home-video quality that suits its low-budget charm. I loved the subtle visual cues—changing hairstyles, wardrobe shifts—to mark the passing years. The lighting in the dorm room scenes feels natural and warm. It's not a technical masterpiece, but the sincerity of the framing and the lack of glossy polish makes it feel honest.

I appreciate the film's honest depiction of the fear and pressure of coming out, especially in a conservative culture. However, I had issues with how Mark's explosive outburst on the fourth day is framed as a catalyst for Derek's decision. It feels a bit like emotional coercion, and the film doesn't fully examine that power imbalance. Still, the conversation about readiness versus being outed is valuable.

The OST, composed and performed by Mikoy Morales himself, is the heart of this film. Each acoustic track perfectly underscores the longing and tenderness between the leads. It's not a big orchestral score, just gentle guitar and piano that stay with you long after the credits roll. I'd listen to the soundtrack on repeat even without watching the movie again.
