In this poignant Thai short film, Ray and Don are a young couple working at the same advertising agency, sharing a home and a seemingly bright future. But when Ray decides to study abroad, he makes the painful choice to break up with Don—not because he stopped loving him, but because he believes that pushing Don toward independence will unlock his true potential. To further stir Don’s ambition, Ray enlists the help of their colleague Lin to pretend to be his new girlfriend, hoping jealousy will ignite a fire in Don. What unfolds is a quietly devastating 40-minute exploration of love, sacrifice, and the messy, often misunderstood ways we try to help the people we care about. Told through tender moments and subtle performances, 2Day captures the bittersweet reality that sometimes loving someone means letting them go—and that growth can be as painful as it is necessary. With a focus on emotional nuance rather than grand gestures, this series offers a reflective, character-driven drama that lingers long after the credits roll.

I appreciate the attempt at a mature breakup story, but the logic behind Ray's plan felt really forced. Why fake a girlfriend to make Don more independent? The runtime doesn't allow proper setup, so I was left more confused than moved. The acting is decent, but the script needed a few more rewrites.

Even though it's short and sad, I fell for Ray and Don's chemistry instantly. The way they look at each other—it's so tender and real. Yes, the plot is a bit messy, but I cried because I could feel how much they still loved each other. A hidden gem for soft-hearted viewers like me!

Visually, this is a treat. The warm color grading and intimate framing capture the melancholy perfectly—especially the scenes in their shared apartment. It feels more like a mood piece than a traditional drama. The director knows how to make silence speak. I just wish the storytelling matched the visual finesse.

I struggled with the premise: a gay man uses a woman to fake-date him to emotionally manipulate his ex. That's not healthy or romantic. Lin's character is barely a person—just a plot device. While I appreciate the attempt to show flawed love, the lack of critique or consequences for Ray's actions left a bad taste.
