If you thought the first chapter of *2 Moons* was a swoon-worthy introduction, *2 Moons 2* takes that university romance and cranks up the charm, heat, and emotional stakes. This isn't a simple sequel—it's a lovingly remade reboot that condenses the original story into a fast-paced, three-episode sprint before launching into entirely new arcs. At its heart, it follows Wayo (Earth), a sweet, starry-eyed freshman who has finally gained admission to Kantaphat University in the Faculty of Sciences—the same university where his long-time crush, Phana (Ben), is a second-year senior. What starts as shy glances and awkward hallway encounters soon blossoms into a real relationship, but the journey is far from a straight line. Phana's own emotional walls and jealousy create bumps, while the couple also has to navigate the drama of the university's beauty pageant, where Wayo unexpectedly becomes a contestant. Meanwhile, the series expands its world with two equally compelling couples. The playful, bickering dynamic between the extroverted Ming (Joong) and the prickly Kit (Nine) provides a lighthearted counterpoint, with Ming determined to win Kit's heart through sheer persistence and goofy charm. And then there's Forth (Pavel) and Beam (Dome)—the fan-favorite pairing that brings a mature, intensely sensual energy. Their romance ignites from a steamy one-night stand and slowly deepens into a surprising emotional connection, exploring consent, casual hookups, and unexpected feelings with refreshing honesty. Each couple gets meaningful screen time, creating a rich ensemble story about finding love in different forms—first love, second chances, and accidental connections. The series balances fluffy, romantic moments with more dramatic turns, including a controversial cliffhanger involving Park, a persistent admirer of Wayo. With stunning cinematography, a cast of gorgeous new actors, and a faster pace that avoids the slow-burn patience of its predecessor, *2 Moons 2* presents itself as a standalone gateway into this beloved Thai BL universe. Whether you're a die-hard fan of the original or a complete newcomer, this series offers a heartfelt, steamy, and occasionally frustrating ride through the ups and downs of queer university life.

I came for PhaYo but I stayed for ForthBeam. Seriously, Pavel and Dome are everything. Their chemistry is off the charts and the way they transitioned from a one-night stand to something real felt so genuine. I rewatched their scenes at least three times. PhaYo is cute too, but the main couple's story moved a bit too fast for me. Still, the fluff and the kisses made my heart so happy. If you love intense, passionate BL, this is it.

MingKit saved this series for me. Joong and Nine have the best comedic timing and their bickering-to-loving arc was adorable. Every scene with Ming's ridiculous pick-up lines and Kit's annoyed pout had me grinning. PhaYo felt a bit flat in comparison and the whole Park drugging storyline was handled poorly. But for MingKit and ForthBeam alone, this is a solid watch. I just wish the ending didn't leave us hanging like that.

I tried to like it, but the plot is a mess. They crammed the entire first season into three episodes and then the main couple had nothing to do for the rest of the series except be jealous. Phana's character became toxic, not cool. Wayo's fake crying scene was physically painful to watch. The ForthBeam storyline had potential but the whole 'I caught feelings because we had sex' origin is lazy writing. Plus that cliffhanger with Park is just ridiculous. Acting is mixed—some scenes are cringe. Watch for the eye candy, not the story.

I have one major complaint: the music direction is terrible. There are long stretches of silence in scenes that desperately need an emotional score. The original *2 Moons* had a killer OST that made the romance soar; this one left many scenes feeling dead. The opening theme by Augustt is good, but it's not enough to carry the show. Without background music, the emotional beats fall flat. The acting and story are okay, but I can't connect without proper sound design.

As someone who read the original novels, I have mixed feelings. The series compresses a lot of detail and loses some charm. Phana in the books is more aloof but also more consistent; here he's just jealous and moody. ForthBeam actually gets more development than in the novels, which I appreciate. MingKit is pretty faithful. However, the portrayal of Park is really altered for drama. The original novel didn't go the drugging route, and I wish the adaptation had stayed truer. It's an okay adaptation but not the definitive version.

I have huge issues with how this series handles consent and manipulation. Wayo using Park to make Phana jealous is cruel and emotionally manipulative. Then Phana's possessive jealousy is played off as romantic, which is toxic. And then there's the Park drugging/photo plot—absolutely unacceptable how it's brushed aside. The show treats these serious issues as mere plot devices without any real consequence. ForthBeam's storyline is actually the only one that handles consent well, with the characters communicating after their hookup. But the overall messaging is harmful. I can't recommend this without serious warnings.

Visually, this is a step up from the original. The color grading is warmer, the lighting in the dorm scenes is soft and intimate, and the campus cinematography is stunning. The beach episode with ForthBeam was beautifully shot. However, some action scenes (like the moon contest) are poorly lit and the editing feels rushed. The acting is hit-or-miss, but when the camera captures the actors' emotions in close-up, it works. If you're a fan of pretty aesthetics and don't mind plot holes, it's an enjoyable watch.

This was my first Thai BL and I am obsessed! The cast is gorgeous, especially Pavel and Joong. I loved all the couples—each one has a different vibe. PhaYo is sweet, MingKit is funny, and ForthBeam is hot. The kiss scenes felt so real! Yes, the ending frustrated me because I need more, but overall this series gave me all the feels. Perfect for anyone who wants a fluffy, steamy, and emotional rollercoaster.
